Gamuda Land's Townsquare in Gamuda Cove fully taken up

KUALA LANGAT (May 23): Gamuda Bhd’s (KL:GAMUDA) property arm Gamuda Land announced that Townsquare, the commercial project of Gamuda Cove township development located in Kuala Langat, has been fully taken up and is targeted for vacant possession in 4Q2024.

In a media preview and launch of Townsquare Park in Gamuda Cove on Thursday, the developer told the press that Townsquare comprises 100 three-storey shop offices. These units come in built-ups ranging from 2,121 to 5,899 sq ft and have selling prices from RM1.536 million. Once completed and handed over to buyers, Townsquare will offer eateries, bistros, cafes and other shops all set in an al-fresco and fully pedestrianised environment.

Meanwhile, drawing inspiration from the Palais Royale Garden in Paris, Townsquare Park was officially launched in conjunction with the International Day for Biological Diversity. It comprises a fountain plaza as its centrepiece as well as various species of plants and flowers. The park is also home to native trees that were cultivated at Gamuda Land’s advanced tree planting nurseries.

In her opening ceremony remarks, Gamuda Land executive director Khariza Abd Khalid said, “For us at Gamuda Land, creating parks has always been our core value since the launch of Kota Kemuning 30 years ago. We believe that our developments should respect nature and that parks should be places where the community can connect and enjoy others' company.

“Townsquare Park is more than just a green space. It represents our dedication to fostering community cohesion and biodiversity enrichment. Around the park, we have placed flower beds acting as a pollinator garden to attract bees, insects, butterflies and more. So these gardens aren’t just for beauty, they play a vital role in our ecosystem by providing pollination, food production and habitat creation,” Khariza added.

Partnering with L’occitane Malaysia, the park will feature herbs like mint and rosemary, which are key ingredients in L’occitane's products, said L’occitane Group Southeast Asia and India general manager Elida Wong.

“At L’occitane, we draw inspiration from nature for all our beauty and well-being products. I’m proud to announce that L’occitane Group has been B Corp-certified since 2023. This certification reflects our dedication to standards of high performance, accountability and transparency as well as our commitment to foster a more inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy.

“Last year, we launched our first biodiversity philanthropy project partnering with the Pahang State Parks Corp and The Habitat Foundation, to restore degraded forest areas within the Al-Sultan Abdullah Royal Tiger Reserve. Our goal is to plant 1,000 trees and restore 2,000 acres of degraded land to revive the region’s biodiversity. Today marks the launch of the Gamuda Land X L’occitane garden, together we would like to make a meaningful impact on sustainable living and environmental conservation in Malaysia,” Wong explained.

Khariza said that with the completion of Townsquare Park, Gamuda Land has developed over 1,600 acres of green and waterscapes across 12 urban forest clusters and is on track to meet its 2,000-acre target by 2025.

“These thoughtful spaces are designed not just as lush environments to foster community cohesion but also double as vital ecological assets, serving as natural cooling zones, carbon storage, and rainwater runoff sponges in our collective battle against climate change. Notably, initiatives such as our 90-acre Wetlands Arboretum and 60-acre Central Park serve as flagship examples of our dedication to environmental stewardship and community well-being,” she added.
